War isn’t the century’s biggest killer…

Our century has seen an immense amount of bloody wars, and an incredible death rate in those wars. WWI kill 9 million in battle, while WWII set a record of 15 million, and by adding up all wars in total, our century has see 35,652,000 killed in conflict. Yet surprisingly those vast numbers are out done by the century total killed by absolutist government, ie. genocide.
The table below provides the total killed and classifies them by the type of government killing verses war. The term government killing means any direct or indirect killing by leadership, except execution from crimes, ie. murder, rape, treason. The government killing is also apart from any military action in war. An example the Jews that Hitler killed would obviously be counted because they were killer merciless, and war was not a factor in the killing.

After finding this information, it became more obvious to me how our focus in the west is in the wrong place. I mean after researching different genocides I knew something needed to be done, but even more now I realize how serious of an issue this is. I mean almost triple the amount killed in war over that past century have been killed by genocide. Therefore all the billions of dollar we in the west spend on war really should be redirected elsewhere.
