It was not until the eleventh century when the Turkish invaded the Armenian homeland, that there was a problem. By the sixteenth century, Armenia had been absorbed into the vast Ottoman Empire, which by the 1800 began to decline in power.

As the Turkish Empire began to reform in 1890, young Armenians pressed for political reform. The Sultan of the Turk’s response was with brutal massacres. Soon after these massacres the young Turks took power over the ottoman and deemed their own ambitions for the future of Turkey. They wished to expand turkey and create a “great eternal land” called Turan, but the historic land of Armenia lay in their path, thus the solution was to wipe out the Armenian’s.
